First Sled

Back when I was 11 years old ( 38 years ago ) my dad bought me a 1965 10HP Ski-Doo.It was a LONG time ago but I still remember that sled.I drove it from the first snowflake untill the last snow patch in the spring.Would run home from school every day and would ride untill it ran out of gas or I did!!! We've come a long way since then.Although my 5 sleds now are 71,72 and 74 Cats.Maybe I haven't come as far as it seems!!!

1984 Arctic Cat Jag 340c.c.

Always started within 3 pulls -- even cold!

Would do 73mph on low-snow conditions!

I actually just got my first sled for Christmas yesterday. Im only 14 and i was tired of riding on the back of my dads 1981 el tigre 5000 when we went riding so my parents bought me a 1981 arctic cat pantera 5000. the pervious owner blew up the 500. so now it has a 76 kawasaki 440 quad plug motor. Now i wish we had snow to ride it.

Mine was an early 70's Moto-Ski Mini or something like that. I don't have any pics of it and it was sold when I was 10....

I just bought my first sled last week but the first one I rode frequently was my grandfathers Merc trail twister 440. That was a fast sled in its day. Well to me it was anyway.

Still a very fast sled and has quite a high demand from collectors.

1983 John Deere 440 Trailfire LX, still have the sled, and it runs like a champ.
1980? or so Yamaha Excel 3, just blew that up this winter, it was a good sled though.

realgraverobber, that's a nice looking sled!
i've only had one for about a month and love it, but it's not the prettiest.
i bought a 79 jag 3000 340cc, off a guy for $20.00, yes $20.
it had no spark, i bought a new stator, and it screems, I Love It!!!
i wish i could find a nicer looking sled without a motor, and take my motor
out and put in.

1973 Arctic Cat Lynx 292 just bought it a little over 2 years ago. It hauls me around well and I am 6'1" 215lbs. It even has a custom exhaust. Original fell right off (that was a loud ride home) so we had a custom one bent.
