1971 arctic cat panther 340 Need some help

im new to this vintage snowmobile thing so i was wondering if you guys could help me out. im having trouble getting my panther running i need a spark plug boot type thing that goes over the spark plug end and holds it on but i was thinking of maybe replacing it with the ngk spark plug wire ends is this possible?? and also any other tips to gettin this thing going would be great appreciated(it ran last season)thanks guys!

You can get several types of replacement boots for the plugs. (auto parts store) if the plug wire is good then get the pin style. The pin is in the boot and screws into the center of the old wire to make a conductive contact.

so what would i need to do to know what pin style what do i neeed to take apart and im not gonna do any permanent irreversible damage am i??

It has been a while since I have seen those mounts I think it was a solid mount to the intake manifold. If so the prob you would have is to create an adaptor to go from the manifold to the carb.

I think that we have gotten two threads jamed in to one. post #1,2,3, go with each other post #4 and 5 belong to another thread I think?
Well I'm fairly sure #4and 5 are speaking of a carb.

I assume this is in referance to the spark plug boot. Ask to see one at the autoparts store it will be fairly obvious. Remove the old boot (may require bending or cutting the plug clip. replace it with the new. there are several diferent types some screw in others push in with a clamp around the plug wire.
