Question First sled

Hey! I'm looking at buying my first sled - right now I have a line on a 77 Skidoo Everest 340. Would like some feedback on reliability, flaws, pros and cons etc.
Thanks,
M

340's are great engines. Very reliable.

How much are they asking. Up until this year all I ran was 340 air cooled sleds for their lightness and for the most part are reliable and really easy to work on if something does go wrong.

He wants $650 CDN - sled seems to be in good shape. Just worried a little about handling on a narower sled like this and suspension as I am 200 lbs and I'd like to ride passengers too!

Those older sleds are very narrow and the lack of any kind of suspension makes them very unstable. They are great sleds to start on but riding a passanger is very difficult due to the stability, shorter seats, and lack of rear suspension. Not to say it can't be done, Ive been snowmobiling for the better part of 15 years on pre 1985 machines and managed until last year when I upgraded to a mid 90's! Whoa. I would go for it until you get your bearings, then upgrade to the more cantankerous machines later
