want to trade my zr700 for a 2 seater

I bought a 1995 zr700 with 2400 miles on it, runs great but need some work, i think it needs a track (I'm not very snowmobile inclined yet-very new to this) and the speedo stopped working just before I bought it from previous owner. My fiance prefers being a passenger as opposed to having her own sled. Im in Long Island NY, up for trades let me know what you have, thanks.

The speedo not working indicates that the drive shaft bearing on that side is gone. should be replaced as soon as possible.

Yeah that's what I have come to understand from reading the posts here, I'm gonna try to do it myself next month, that way if I mess up I still have time to get someone else to fix it.

It is actually a standard machinery bearing. You can get a replacement at any farm or auto supply store.

You can take pics of the track and ask us if it's in good shape.

I'm going to order the bearings this weekend along with a new throttle cable and slides. I found a local guy that states he has a 2 up seat that might fit my sled he says it's universal. I'll take some pics of the track too and post it, you guys can tell me what you think. Also, I found a guy right around the corner from me that used to work as an Arctic cat mechanic, he owns his own shop now working sleds, ATV's and motorcycles. So if there is something i can't handle...

Maybe he will let you come in and work on it there with his help.............
Wouldn't hurt to ask and you can learn a lot that way, especially if you buy all your part from him.

I'm really leaning towards keeping it. It runs well, has newer plastic skis, milelage is low and is in mint shape. The little things that are wrong with it I am going to try and do some myself, so that I can learn more about snowmobiles. Plus your REALLY far from me! Send me some pictures of yours, maybe I'll change my mind.

Mine has alum skis with ski skins, the 2 up seat, and the stock too! Rev as well as a crank up rebuild! A newer rear suspension. I get out and about and could possibly meet you half way? What all is wrong with yours?

Speedo doesn't work, I was told by a friend of a friend that it needs new carbides. That's really all I know of. I have not gone through the whole thing cause I don't really know what I am doing, but I wanted to go through some of the yearly maintenance things only because I don't know what was done to it and when it was done. I just started it today and fired w only 2 pulls. I would def consider a trade as long as this deal goes through on a yamaha v max 800. Let me know.

It won't start as well in warm weather as cold because the carbs are probably adjusted for cold weather. The speedo not working could mean a few things. As for carbides, take a pic or two of the skis (bottom) and I can tell you if they are worn.
