MINT 1972 Arctic Cat Panther 340

I'm selling my 1972 Arctic Cat Panther. This sled is probably in the best shape I've ever seen an old sled in. It's practically showroom quality and has been in a garage since it was new. The whole machine itself has around 600 miles on it and 2.5 miles on the fully rebuilt STRONG running and easy starting engine. Just replaced the original wear bars which weren't even halfway worn with hard bars. The walbro carb has been replaced with a more reliable Tillotson HD and has also been FULLY rebuilt. The track, cleats, skis, tunnel, suspension, idler wheels, sprockets and hyfax are like new and show next to no wear. The seat, which is all original leopard print, is in IMMACULATE condition with absolutely no rips, tears or imperfections of any sort and is very soft and pliable with all 'cat head' snaps intact. The gas tank and cap have been replaced as well as all fuel lines, fittings, check valves and filter. It is a show winning quality original "un-restored" sled in excellent condition.

After replacing the engine last summer and riding it a couple miles last winter the original salsbury primary engine clutch started getting sluggish and will need to be replaced to be rode again, but the clutch can be replaced with a comet 94 series clutch which can be bought from a good part supplier (dennis kirk) or can be found used as well.

Any other questions or inquiries just send me a message or you can request my phone # as well

Well, considering the condition and the amount of time and money I've put into this one I'd like to get at least 900 for it. I've been offered 500+ for just the seat and the engine I put in it cost me 300 not including the gasket set and other parts I put in the engine. I'm selling it whole though and not parting it out. I'm looking into getting a working clutch for it, but then I will be wanting slightly more for it, being that it will be in perfect operating condition.

I'd consider buying a clutch, but it wont be for me to ride it. It'll just be the selling point. The sled just isn't practical for me being that I ride about 1000 miles a year at least and that I already have a perfectly good sled that isn't show quality. I think it should go to someone who can appreciate it, but also enjoy it too. I'm looking into a 94 duster clutch with a 30mm taper on it so that should work, but the sled will be fully operational and worth more.

If it's the oem salsbury then I definitely don't want it. I was told that a 30mm taper clutch will work and i'm looking into buying one.

I'd also like to say that the price is negotiable and that I would possibly accept a trade as well for some kind of atv or newer snowmobile

I just posted the sled on craigslist as well in minneapolis. It's listed for 1000 or best offer, but I will accept any reasonable offer. If anyone has any questions or inquiries my name is Rob and I can be reached 24/7 at 651-343-8097
