For Sale: Custom 1991 Polaris Indy 500 Special

I am asking $1000.
This snowmobile is located in Western Massachusetts.

The snowmobile currently has 7000 miles and had a complete rebuild around 4000. This sled runs extremely well and will last a long time in the right hands.

All info on mods and pictures of the sled can be found here:
Snowmobile Fanatics website for daktruckie99

Any questions just ask here, PM, or email me.

I think the suspension travel in the rear is 8". Not sure about up front. The suspension is the XC101 version that came on early wedge Polaris.

If you follow the link in the for sale ad and the links in my profile you will find tons of pictures.

Sled is turn key and 100% ready to ride. I have already put on about 200 miles this season and am going to try and squeeze in 50-100 more this weekend.

The only issue that you should be aware of is that the brake is sub par. I think the chaincase oil splatters on the disk and thus makes it dirty. I know the seals on the chaincase are good because I have inspected them and the disc was cleaned and new pads installed, however the oil came back, I just never looked into it further. The brake does work fine however and will stop the sled and the track can be locked up, so it isn't a huge deal. You just have to keep it in mind when riding the snowmobile.

I can get under hood pics this weekend as I keep the sled at my parents house and not my apartment.

i dont understand if the case isnt leaking how could it get there? is it possible, the coolant res right above the disk is leaking coolant onto the brakes? please send me some more detailed close ups underhood etc and the area of concern. thanks

It's definitely not coolant. It's a gunky grease like stuff. I cleaned it a few years ago and it took a long time to come back so it must be a small leak somewhere.

But the brake still works, its just messy by the disc.

I'll get pics this weekend.

If you want to come see the sled this is a good weekend for it. I will be with the sled from now until Sunday afternoon. But then I wont be with the sled for the rest of the week.

Let me know if you want to come see it in person.

The sled isn't going anywhere anytime soon as far as I can see. Let me know when things are better for you.

For the right sled, yes. But the sleds I want are a lot more than $1000, so I don't see how it would work well.

New pics...

Just got all washed up, fresh grease in all the joints, and fogged for summer storage.

Let's hear some offers, I want another car NOW and this could be the down payment []
