What can i get for $5000
Ok i know this could start a big argument but here it goes. Who makes the "best" trail sled. And what could get for around $5000? I am kinda looking for something with a 600 or bigger....wouldnt mind a four-stroke but they are kind new and probably out of my spending range. As for brands i am not really loyal to one but i do like Arctic cats and ski-doo.
Thanks
Kevin

The type of riding you will do dictates the sled you get. Trail, deep powder, or lake racer. Also do you want new or is a gently used accpetable? If it is a Cat you want, I recomend the SaberCat 600 EFI. You can find good deals on leftovers from your dealer or look for a private seller.

For that kind of cheese, you could pick up a nice 04 FireCat 700 SnoPro. Being from IL, you will prolly be doing more trail riding than anything else. The F7 is at home on trails or, if you want to open 'er up on the lakes. Not much out there can keep up!
Good luck.........happy shopping!!

I picked up an MXZ 600 this spring and just love the way she looks. Can't wait to ride her bare back this winter.
You should be able to pick up a really good sled for $5000.
I'm hearing good things from people about the Yamaha 4-strokes also.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

I have less than that into all three of mine combined!!!
For trail riding, you really don't need anything over a 600, and for the money you're looking to spend, you should be able to pretty much buy a new leftover. Firecat F6 would be my choice...

Brother-in-law picked up a '04 Ski-doo Rev 500SS,brand new last year fer $5500.Really nice machine. It's really a 600 with carbs.Don't quite know why they called it a 500.My wife bought the GSX which was the same his except for electric start,a suit case and mirrors and she choked up $7000.The 500SS even han that way cool electric reverse. He doesn't even have to pull start it to get it to go backwards.I can't quite figure that one out.Oh yea his SS came with upgraded shcks while the wife's didn't.Who got the better deal,eh?

Haven't heard from Kallen since this post in Sept. Wonder if he/she picked up a sled?

I'd go with a rev 500ss adrenaline or a f6, I personally would go with the rev, I just like the way they are set up better, any how the new cats have dimond drive which is nice.

You can pick up a yamaha four stroke for that price range. I got my o4 rx-1 for 5000. Depends on what kind of riding your doing though.
Good Luck

Just bought it so only took it out in the fields. Going riding this week. Everyone I knows loves them. Weight is the only issue they talk about. Like I said depending on your riding preference. So far I love it. Smooth ride with smooth power, and lots of it. Can't wait to realy open her up. I know some people have had more issues with the 03's. weight, suspension, etc. I bought my preseason so I feel I got a pretty good deal. If your realy interested in one go to http://www.totallyamaha.com/
and you can get lots more info. They also have a big classified list.
Good luck
