no matter where you buy them it goes to the snowmobile fund except for 1$ that goes to the seller of tag, no different than hunting license. Atleast thats what I was told by the MSA.

Okay what I am looking for is a group of trail riders who would like to do some leisurely riding that would be sane lol. Meaning not the race rider types, but people who would rather enjoy the scenery, and take their time as opposed to 70 MPH and up running. This could include anyone who is not in a hurry to get somewhere. My thoughts are we might include those who are trained in first aid, and maybe a couple of licensed Amateur radio operators? I am a licensed Amateur and have a APRS/GPS radio on the sled in case of emergencies. To be honest I am open to suggestions. The area we are in is near Boyne Mountain ski resort in Northern Michigan.

Several dealers said the dealer sold ones have the money going to trails, and the DNR version goes to the DNR general fund which is not always the Trails, which can be allocated to what the State sees best. Frankly knowing how the DNR operates I am thinking this is true. I did make a number of calls and everyone who sells these I talked to has the same opinion.
