Fleese lined socks of the same sort of material made a huge difference for me too.
Good post.My brother wants to go riding with me but doesn't have any gear.He asked me if he really needs gear,so i said if you don't get any you'll regret it very quickly.

Thanks for making this a sticky. Can not recall how many times I have gone with blue jeans, and carharts. Guess its time to make some new purchases. Better safe than sorry.

I usually wait until post-season, then start looking on eBay! I usually get top quality clothes, in excellent condition, for a fraction of the normal price. That's how I can afford to have a couple jackets, and a couple pairs of bibs...

Under Armor make good shirts for wicking away moisture....nice thin layer to start off with.

Leather rules for the extreme cold. It may be heavy but after 4 hours of wind blast its king. Just don't take it on unsafe lakes and ice. A sled with a nice windshield is very good to have. I can drive most of the time with my visor up. Even when its snowing. When i get more money though i am getting a nice warm floater. These mild winters are starting to sketch me out on lakes I would usually never worry about.
