Trails in the UP (CURTIS AREA)

Boy am I slackin this year. The normal place I stay every year is booked solid from the beginning of January till the end of February. I found a place near South Manistique lake in Curtis. Can anyone tell me what the trails are like down in that area on a season to season basis? Do they usually have a lot of snow etc? The reason we stay in the Pine Stump area is because they have much more snow north of Newberry. We were on a trip a couple years ago and there was about a foot of snow south of M28. When we headed north thru Newberry the snow started to get quite a bit deeper. we could barely get to the cabin.
I'd hate to stay somewhere that the snow sucks , especially after a 12-13 hr drive.
Any input is appreciated. thanks
Mike

We rode down through Curtis last year near the beginning of February and they had a lot of snow. We usually stay in Seney but are actually staying in Curtis this year for our annual trip, Feb 1 - 5.

Thumbs up

Hey tama i was in Curtis 2 days ago. Snow conditions are pretty descent right now, since its so early in the season, you will def hit some good trails everyone one of them was great going from Curtis to trout lake. Where do you stay at Pinestump? I have a place just before the famous Pine Stump Junction Gas Station, i wont be there anytime soon though i plan on riding Marquette and Munising through January though. If your staying in Curtis make sure to hit up Tally's downtown there's all some great people there.
