couple ?s bout wisconsin trails

i had heard that you canget into trouble if you ditch ride is that true in wisconsin?

do you have to have a windshield on your sled on the trails?

what is the registration cost for a year?

doi need snowmobile safety to ride being that i am 17?

I'm pretty sure you only need to take the safety course if you are under 16.

Registration cost me about $60, but $22.50 of that was tax since I paid $450 for the sled. Did you just buy the sled or are you renewing the registration? It makes a difference.

I'm not sure on the ditches or windshield questions, Have a look through HERE (warning PDF) if you get a chance. Those questions might be answered.

Page 8 and 9 of the PDF I linked to has the rules regarding ditch riding. Apparently it is fine under certain circumstances.

Yes you do need to have a safety course card. The newer WI law states that anyone born after whatever date in 1985 needs to carry a valid safety course card.

I took the class last year for my daughter. I am of age but she was 11. Class was 8 hours long but the test was easy. Good Luck!

yep if your born January 1, 1985 of after you have to take the course!! i'm 15 years old and i'm in the course right now!! ends thursday!!

yes it is legal to ride the ditchs. as long as you stay within the right of way. the area that is 10' from the road way and left of the telephone poles. i normally find if your considerant of the land owners they don't care. so have fun but don't tear the lawn out. that way everyone is happy.
