Smile How far do you ride?

I am just getting back into this. Last weekend, my wife and I went to Frenchman Lake, (Northern CA) and rode a total of about 30 miles round trip. She is not as much into this as I am, and she was getting tired. We rode to a friends house and back to the dam. We had fun, only 1 problem(broken waterneck on a 1996 Indy 500 (only gets ridden usually once a year)), but we made it in, had fun on the way, and made it out having even more fun. Don't laugh, but I set my personal speed limit of 60. Just got a broken 96 Doo Touring for free from my neighbor with a dislodged axle, will have to fix. Took my dad's 86 Cat Pantera on the ride. Old, yes. Slow, NO. Riding on what are gravel roads in 2 months, I could get to 55-60 before I ran out of straight stretch. Probably 10% throttle still left, and roads were rutty and rough at anything under 35mph. Any ways back to the point, I hope to get my wife into this and go 70-80 miles in a day, but where we live that is hard because once you unload, you have NO fuel, whatever food you can pack, and isolated areas, where in the summer we go for evening drives in the car, but if you had to walk out and nobody passed you, it could take 16 hours to walk out in the summertime!! This is why for now we like to keep our trips under about 80 miles.

We got up Fri. am. and was on the trail by 8:00, had 190mi on by 1:00 pm. Loaded and headed home.
My brother and I 2-yrs. ago put on 373mi. from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, we only stopped for gas and a quick snack because we were intesionally trying to break our group's "Most Miles in 1 day" record and we SMASHED it. It was middle MArch, 30 degrees, no snow dust and NO traffic what so ever ( middle of week ) we counted less than a dozen sleds all day and 1/2 were parked. We've both been on sleds since 9 & 7 yrs. old so we were cruising along pretty good. shane

317 here, but i could have gone longer, just some buddies I went with liked to talk while they eat... so there was a couple hours gone. Plus when I ride I don't stick to the main trail.. I take small logging trails, much slower rate but much better riding.
