Um, where'd you hit it? We were out riding today, and there was a possum in the middle of the Wild Goose Trail (south central WI) this morning when we went to gas up the sleds...I've *never* seen an animal in the middle of the trails in my life...much less "roadkill".
We see plenty of squirrels, rabbits, turkey, and deer otherwise - just off to the side, in the woods.

Dramatic story* Dun Dun Dun.
I was riding my sled one very snowy day, when along came a bend in the trail and what appeared to be a beached whale in the way. So i ninja'd off the sled, pulled out the harpoon. Got a little closer, and to my suprise, i was staring oprah right in the eyes! Harpoons! Man them!

same thing happened to me up here in ontario. came off a lake and came damn close to a cow and calf in a swampy area near algonquin park. killed the sled and watched the 2 for about 10 minutes until they took off across the swamp. i've seen the aftermath of a deer vs. sled at about 50k's or 35mph. sled had minimal damage but the deer was paralized and we had to call in the local police to put her down. didn't want to watch the poor thing suffer.

ive hit a deer. well thats a lie, my friend hit a deer while on the back of my machine...actually thats a lie too. the deer headbutted him, tore off the visor on his helmet. the deer was knocked out cold for a few minutes till my cousin had the brilliant idea to poke it with a stick. it proceeded to jump up, look around, and run right into a tree. we walked over to it laughing extremely hard. it stood up and wobbled into the woods
