closest trail access for Binghamton NY

Guys,

I just bought my first snowmobile a few weeks ago. I haven't used it because the snow had already melted. I did not know that such a trail infrastructure existed in NY state. Is there a site that has the trail maps? I would like to see how far away trail access is. Does anyone on the board ride these trails around binghamton?

Since I do not know exactly where you are, I can not help you with that. I have sent you a PM.

check with your local clubs. there are tons of trails throughout ny. I am a member of tioga ridge runners. you can get trail access in a ton of places around binghamton. also look up the ny state snowmobile association for more trail info.

also check out my site. it's a local forum for our area and the surroundings.

New York State has some of the best snowmobiling in the US. Go to New York State Snowmobile Association - you can get map info, join clubs, (A MUST for NY as registration fees are $100.00 per sled without a club membership, $45.00 with). My personal favorite is Old Forge/Inlet/Thendera (hundreds of miles of trails), they charge additional money for use of their trails, but you don't get as many of the dangerous sled riders that like to do 80mph on the trails. Great scenery, great grooming, the best riding you can find in NY. I belong to a club in Warren County (Lake George), go to their web site South Warren Snowmobile Club Inc. - great people that do a fantastic job with their 100+ miles of groomed trails in one of the most beautiful areas of the Adirondacks. You can ride their great trails for free, but their club fee is only $25.00 for family membership and you get the NYS discount on all of your sleds. This is one club that does a GREAT job in taking care of their trails. I've been riding for over 35 years, love the sport, and love to do it SAFELY. I was one of those young fast riders that tried to take down a barbed wire fence with my neck 30 years ago, still have the scars to show for it, and am glad to be alive to continue to enjoy the greatest winter sport there is out there.
