Sounds like a great time. But I'm not a millionaire who can take 3 weeks off and pay my way across Canada....

Bring lots of money, and make sure that you really really really like who you're riding with. An extra pair of underwear or socks wouldn't hurt either.

I tried a week long ride with my buddy once, but about 4 days in I got home sick and sick of him so we headed home. If you went with a bunch of people than I could see it being possible. It cost a lot of money in hotel rooms and food too. Way too much for a college student.
I'll stick to the weekends at the cottage.

Id give just about anything right now for just a 3 hour ride. WE NEED SNOW. Last season was horrible with the conditions. Make sure the conditions are excellent and good luck finding enough snow.

you have to be out of your mind...holy crap!
for a 1500 mile +/- ride ( ) you better have this thing planned out well enough in advance.
when do you plan on starting your trip? how many miles per day? have you taken into account the "dumb arse factor" for fixes or accidental breaks?
for food, lets assume $10/meal (includes tip), three meals a day, for 3 wks...thats $630 just in food...no wonder why youve been saving for 10 yrs...

Ive done alot of 1 week rides 2000-2500 miles the cost averages 150$ per day hotel food gas drinks etc. Ill have a brand new sled next year that gets 15+ mpg. done numerous trips in canada where you have to haul 5gallons of gas just to make it betwween gas stops. that was with a sled that got 9mpg though.

Go for it!!! Sounds like a challenge. A new sled is the only way I'd try a trip like that.
You're going to need some decent size saddle bags to carry clothes and supplies! (You can only turn your undies inside-out so many times...) Gotta be prepared for spending at least one night in the snow, in the unfortunate event of a break-down or adverse weather. I've read horror stories of well-seasoned riders getting buried in unexpected deep snow drifts and/or sudden storms. Just make sure you prepare for the worst. If you bring it and don't need it, great! If you need it, but forgot to bring it... that's bad.
