I have always wanted to try that myself! I think it would be a lot of fun! I think your $150 a day in Canada is pretty good, but I hope you like fast food cause it doesn't take long to kill $50 a head at a decent restaurant and that will get very costly. Like others have said, make sure you are very well prepared and have it mapped out well! I did a week long saddle bag trip and we ran into hotel booking problems due to hockey tournaments. Just be prepared to move on to the next town if need be.
