I don't get it. I've been all over the map job-hunting (looking for somewhere that has SNOW) and I can't seem to find ANY place that gets more than where I am... yet last winter sucked here!

I checked out Colorado, Dakotas, Nevada, Utah, etc. All the places I *thought* got lots of snow. Denver gets half what I get at home! The only place that comes close is Sault Ste. Marie, with 118 inches of snowfall/year. The Syracuse area gets 115/yr. What gives? Must be colder temps that preserve whatever snow falls elsewhere, even if it is in lesser amounts.
