Lightbulb Is there any trails in ohio?????

Is there anyplace to ride around here in ohio? I tried searching the net, but became frustrated when everyone wanted me to pay for a membership. I can always ride around here, but it would be nice to get away from the house for a while. I really dont want to travel to MI everytime, so I thought that I would post here and see what came up. Thanks for any and all info in advance

Todd

not really, just local stuff. there is the Greenway which is a start, but thats not exactly worth a weekend trip. its nice, dont get me wrong, but short. dunno what part of ohio you're at, but NY has some great riding, and i heard parts of PA isnt bad but havent been there myself.

We,ve got some pirate trails south of Elyria.Have gone from Lagrange to Wakeman.Lot of farmland we've got to cross.Seroius ditch bangin' and carbide wearin' stuff. So far no ones shot at us.We try to be stealthy as snowmobiles can(not much). Most of the clubs just travel.Didn't venture out at all locally last year.No snow to speak of.If it's good this year,I'd like to plan a meet with any locals here and take another run to "The Crossroads".Great little restraunt/bar that's just far enough away where ya needs a break.Skidoo Magoo,Tell your dad to come along so's us ole timers can stick together

It's in Wakeman, almost to Norwalk.Lotta' sleds congregate there. Not a wild place but great food and same for the rock n roll..You can park the trailer at my brother-in-law's place(on 303 in Lagrange). If it get's too late you all can crash there. We call it "the Big House".You'll just hafta' watch out for my wife on the trails. She's got that wicked 600 Rev and not enough strength to steer it.That and you have to help me get 'er unstuck(not saying I don't get that way )

well heck, youll have to post something if your going to do a run like that. My girlfriend and I are really looking forward to getting out on the sleds, shes pumped about her new handwarmers, and I think that we may go north if the weather keeps this up....

Will do Todd.I know skidoo M is east of Cleveland and I'm west of there. We even sled close to each other in Ontario.Never hooked up though.Don't have much chance of traveling to other states 'cause all my eggs are in one basket with the camp up on the French river, just south of Lake Nippising.

I'm only 2 1/2 hours from Lake Chataqua. The only bad part is NY registration is so expensive.

Registration in Ohio is only $6.oo for three years I believe.Correct me if I'm wrong,Magoo.Didn't get to sled at all here last year. When you look at it that way,I think you get your money's worth
Permits in Ontario are $180 (Can) for the season.I paid $130 for a seven day pass last year.Gonna spend the extra $50 and hope I can use it more than once
By the way,Tamacat;you a Steelers fan?Battle for the Basement next week!
Go Bucks! My wife's gonna' be a football widow this commin' weekend

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!!!! I had no idea that passes were so much up north. That may really put a damper on my plans. Dont get me wrong, but thats a lot of dough to travel for two weekends worth of riding. I wouldnt mind going to michigan though, PA is a little bit o drive for me. I live in Marion, which is about 40 min North of Columbus via US23. With all the stuff that we have going on, (two young ones, areana cross, holidays, etc...) It may be hard for us to get out all that much. I did see that the Farmers Almanac was calling for 12 inches or snow from Dec 8 to the 11th I think it was. I am calling for 2 feet every day from dec 20th to feb 14 too....for what little its worth....LOL

On the flip side, I am REALLY wanting to get out and do some riding, and we are always anxious to meet new people, sooooo ANYTIME anyone local wants to get a group ride together, I am really going to make an effort to do it. On these rides, my woman wants to know if there are some other girls to hang out with, as she can gearhead talk for a while, but then it changes to clothes, shoes etc with time. I am sure that you all know how that is....

Oh yea,my wife's got her own sled.Better'n mine.Well,more power than mine.Dunno if I should say better(she's got a Doo and I've got a Pol)
She'd love to have a female buddy along.Usually the only woman in the gang and she get's the brunt of the puns if i don't do something to deserve a crack
Ya still haven't told us what part of OH you're from,525T.Was gonna try to get a hold of Spaceman at HCS.He's from Elyria which is close by.
I'll order 2 ft a snow from Feb 14 to the middle of March, then we'll be set

525, hey, I'm just a little north of you! I'm just north east of Bucyrus in a small town called New Washington. I hit Marion every so often with my bizz. I do aftermarket items at local car dealerships--mainly remote starters. I don't go to Marion all that much because for some reason most dealers like Ziebart but those that care about their customers call me Maybe we could cross paths!
