USA/Michigan/Gaylord

Anyone got any local info on the trails. I've been to the links and get email reports from the area, but I'd like to get a locals opinion if it's worth it to make the 3HR drive to ride the trails. I've heard the main trails, bewteen the bars and fuels stops, are pretty much hammered. The cabin where we stay is off exit 270 at Waters, and we almost always stay to the E of I75 and ride over there.

Any info is appreciated...

Thanks,
Jim

Our family place is on Heart Lake in Water's, and the report I got from the in-laws is that conditions are not good right now. I would wait and plan that trip when the weather/snow gets more stable. This is why I haven't gone yet myself.

Well, it's a free ride up there...they've got an extra place in the trailer, so I wouldn't have to drive...maybe pay for some fuel and food at the cabin, but that's nothing compared to filling up both tanks on the F-150 for the trip.

The weather is supposed to turn good thursday:

This is the weather report I've been watching:

We don't go near Gaylord much unless someone needs the dealer for something. The trails near Waters are always better compared the ones closer to Gaylord and less traffic is a plus. We usually ride around the military grounds out there...do you know where I'm talking about?

I chose not to go...the main trails are all mud and the 3-5" isn't enough to lure me up there.

Maybe next weekend...

I'm curious if anyone went up and got any riding in...

I haven't heard anything from my buddies that went up.
