Lake Simcoe is nearly frozen, in about two weeks the whole thing will be safe to ride on (would be sooner, but they're calling for 10* or something stupid on Friday)

Not sure if trails are open or not

my dad's trying to get a trip planned up there for this weekend! how's it lookin? it's a weird situation... we dont know if we're leaving or not, and we'd leave thursday night. i would like info on weather thru monday, please.

please say you got some rideable snow! we'll go anywhere in ontario! looking around the bracebridge area first, but anywhere with snow! (we're desperate and dont care where we go or not... just need to put on some miles.)

Yikes! Today and tomorrow we're sitting between 6 - 10 degrees C with rain (and that's all across Ontario). Then it's going to dip below freezing on Saturday with snow. I'm not sure what this weather will do to our trails but I hope it's not too bad. Good luck.

i'd hold off if I were you....good place to check trail conditions is www.ofsc.on.ca

I know the trails around Barrie / bracebridge are dicey and with the rain and warm weather will be crap...give it another week at least for some new snow!

I agree with hoss. I'd wait for some more snow to fly. Check out this link too http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/foreca...x_e.html?id=ON for the weather in Ontario by city. Again, good luck!

Part of Lake Simcoe is frozen, around the edges, the whole thing should be freezing pretty soon (considering it's pretty cold here now), there is snow at the sides of the roads, on your average piece of grass there is just enough snow to cover the grass...

not sure if trails are open or not.

That said, about 45mins north-west, there is a lot more snow than barrie

like it or not, people ride on more than just trails,
If I can only say what 2 of the 3 snowmobile passages are like, should I just not bother posting?

there is a sticky with the Ontario trail reports in it in this forum, would you like a link ?

there isn't however a site where you can go and find out if the lake is frozen, or snow is on the roads, so my previous post is actually MUCH MORE useful than just saying "the trails are open"

so go screw yourself

Put on 170 miles on Saturday. Rode from Fenelon Falls to Bancroft and back. The trails are incredible and Ontario is going into a deep freeze for the next week or so. I love this weather!

Toronto area got about 8 inches, up north got about nothing

Lake Simcoe is completely frozen over now though, no worries of going through
