Trails near Rhinelander, WI, Hurley, WI & Bessemer, MI

We're out of snow here in South Central Wisconsin and are thinking about heading up north to the Rhinelander,WI, Hurley, WI, and Bessemer, MI areas in the near future. Does anyone know what the trail conditions are like up there, if they have received any new snow recently or are expecting any, and if the trails are still open?

The trails east of rhinelander in forest county are still in very good shape, so I'm guessing onieda county trails should be good as well.

Thanks for the trail info. That's good to hear. We'll have to get up there soon.

Thanks, that's good to know. I just heard that Hurley still has about 2 feet of snow cover. It was in the low 50's down here in Madison, WI today & will be again tomorrow so I'm assuming that it's been warmer up north too & the snow is going fast.

That makes sense. I've heard that they have to have the ice fishing shacks off of the lakes by the 15th of March also. The trails will probably pretty bad by the 31st anyways. Down here they go by the amount of snow cover to determine when the trails are open. We have to have at least 6" of snow cover with a good frozen base beneath that.
