Midland and Penetang Ontario area

Well the riding season here is great for trails as there is tons of snow! The local snowmobile club has yet to open the trails for some unknown whacked out reason but they are good to go. Maybe just avoid the marshy areas as they may not be frozen up tight just yet. Keep in mind that trails that are closed pose the risk of a trespassing charge. The Georgian Bay ice is another story. Reports have been coming in that the ice in the Midland Harbour is ok at best and some sleds have reached Beausolei Island. Beyond that though the ice has been reported as UNSAFE. The heavy snows have insulated the bay against a solid freeze. USE THE BAY AT YOUR OWN RISK AT ALL TIMES. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, DON'T GO! It would be best to avoid the waterways around here for a little while!
