Gaylord area-WARNING & Advice

If you are riding in Gaylord/Waters area...two things of advice

1. Wear all your gear, don't do anything stupid, make sure you have registration permits etc. (MDNR and CCSO were sitting at the Frederic town line right on the trail)

2. More important-TAKE SOME PAIN MEDS AFTER YOU RIDE. Trails 4/7 are nothing but BUMPS. You can't really get over 30 without it getting nasty. I really hope the groomers do something about the trails tonight...

Oh the xlt is doing alright...

He needs to fix the steering. Its quite loose and you gotta be careful. Also sometimes it will stall when you stop. You gotta gas it when you pull start it. Any reason possible?

Its the thing that all the tirerods and everything go inside and meet (the plate). its really loose and needs to be fully replaced

The last 3 years i've been there trail 47 between Grayling and Lovells is horrible. Trails 4 and 7 are usually good tho

Not sure why, but it seems like every time I have taken Trail 4 towards LON, it has been junk. Now I'll avoid it!!
Remember, dude, it's Hell Week!!

I guess they only have ONE groomer running. The other one is down. Per one of the area residents. They haven't groomed here...have no idea but pretty disappointed right now...I gotta have some fun...

Well we went to Frederic then we drove all the way to Gaylord and rode the powerlines and then back.

We're going to explore more. I'm going to make a post in the help section on my brothers xlt issue

One thing about the Gaylord trail system is that it's probably the most crowed in the state. Specially on the weekends.

Yea and it would help to have a third groomer but the state of michigan does'nt seem to see why we need another

I did have a great 5 hour ride today though, left the house and headed up near the pigeon river area and man o man just amazing snow fall and only saw a total of 6 people!

I'm going to check that area out. We went over to the power lines and it was pretty decent minus me rolling my sled onto my leg

Hey what trail nearby goes through the woods? Riding along the road is kinda boring and want to take it into the woods rural

Have you gone west down Caladonia road? There's some off trail riding in the state land.
