Your best bet is to trailer down to Wildwood and then jump on the river. As SR said, you can open it up out there, 120mph is not uncommon for the sleds that can do it as there are alot of straight aways with no ice shifts to worry about. Ive almost got the wife talked into letting me get my sled registered in February. If thats the case, the weekend of the 22nd me and my son will be out there all weekend.

we'll keep in touch... i'm hoping to get that polaris edge 600x on saturday... i've been kind of taking it easy on my 440 because i don't have a backup sled.. saturday will take care of that so i'm looking to put forth a good effort to get out for some longer cruises... maybe even the IR meet; but don't know yet about that one... i have to put a hitch on my jeep still and buy a little trailer... and also i really don't have any friends in WB that sled... and gf is downstate.. so that kind of sucks to go by myself everywhere.. .and the closest club is in st. helen, which i may check out after i get the 600....

tell me when you're going to be up.. and we'll see if we can get the crotchety SR up also!! or maybe the freak of nature CV!!

SAAA WEEETTTT!... well that's a tallent!!
i call my stuff "functional artistic $hit"!!!
the funny thing was when i found the "tree".... after carving about 60% done (over a 3 week period)it was in the middle of the woods a mile back.... i didn't have my jeep at the time and it was a 3days before xmas and couldn't figure out a way to get a 7' "hunk-o-oak" out of the woods! kind of a ship-in-a-bottle thing!... but found a JD gator that i laid the log on and drove it out in 12" of snow!! pretty sweet.. i used to have pictures of the whole process but lost them in a computer melt down a few years ago....

snowrida, where abouts do you ride through the state land? im curious as to where you come from, and where i can get to. If conditions are right, i can go north west to houghton lake, and east to sterling, but not north to WB.

I don't ride to WB. I leave my place east, then north on M-30 a bit, turn right on one of the side streets, snake around until I hit the woods, go through to the river and we're on. Can ride for miles out there!

Yea! But when you get there it's a blast. You can stop at Secord Lake Bar for lunch, Three Rivers Resturant. Can have a super day out there!

So your coming from Center Fire Line/Sterling Truck trail area then? Ever ride south of 61 on the atv trails? I dont know how to do it, but i have heard its been done, apparently you can get to albright shores via those trails. The only one complaint riding that way is the only gas is at wildwood, or that market at three rivers rd, and bowman or sterling. The gas station by secord lake bar is closed now.

I had an MXZ until i smoked it on a stump that was sticking up through the ice. Endo'd the sled and totaled it. Rode it back home, with a very sore shoulder. Snow, im really interested to know exactly where your place is. Chris, i wont be up to my dads (with the sled, hopefully) until the 22nd.

keep me posted!!

i was just messing around with google maps and it sucks up here because there is no detail to the satellite pictures... and found MSN's service... pretty freaking sweet!! pretty detailed...

plug in your zip code where your cabin is.. and zoom it.. you'll zoom in to a point then keep zooming and it will clear up....pretty damn clear images of the area.... if it looks like crap keep zooming you haven't gone far enough....
i kind of figure out a way to get down to secord lake and the tib from me..

here: make sure when it opens go to the hybrid view punch your zip in and zoom....

Should be sooner than I thought. We are having a timber cut done, and I just talked with the forester last night. We are going to meet up with him again in early Feb. So I will be making a road trip when the meeting is scheduled. We have been trying to have a winter timber cut the last 2 years, but the last 2 winters have been to warm for them to get their machinery in there.
CF, you wouldn't happen to have a plow would you? The driveway is prolly full of snow.

I asked the forester to try and make the meeting on a weekend. If so, yes we will have some time to ride.

That warm spell can take a toll on the timber cut as well. They have to use the perfect window of opportunity to get in there with the machines.
