Hey! One more person that measures things in racing-snowmobile-waiting-racing seasons! (I don't hunt, so....)

It'll get us pretty close! I was talking about local racing (both the bf and I grew up at (separate) local tracks), so that season is pretty short in comparison. But hey - there's always football & baseball to throw in, too.

Trails are getting marked and I saw a few snow flakes today. We are getting close and the sled is still not 100% ready to get it's @$$ kicked this winter.

a few flakes? man, we had white out conditions last night. about a half inch (woo hoo huh) was on the ground at one point. of course, this morning, its all gone. but it sure would be nice to stick with the wet weather we've had since August...

I hope the trail conditions improve...or at least get marked.

the trail route has changed since i last was sledding 7 years ago. I went out this past weekend for a drive and couldt for the life of me find where the trail comes closest to my place. No one was out last night...and we got 5". So there werent any trails to follow. So either the trails aren't marked yet and the fences opened in some areas, or the DNR map for this year is way off...

Are you part of a club or do you volunteer to mark trail at all?

so my text may have been taken the wrong way...

No, i am not part of a club. I just started up sledding again after 7 years off. The nearest club is 5 miles away, but is in another county, so they do not mark the trails in my town. Not sure who does actually.

The trails are marked well in Stewartville, but once they get south of that town I can't find a thing. I remember where they used to be, and followed all the backroads last night looking for some kind of markings, but found nothing. I'm sure its around, but i just cant find it. The trail used to literally go through my front yard, but has moved due to a development down the street.

I'm not complaining really, just frusterated that i can't find something.

just to give you a picture of it, this pic is of where the trail used to go though.

and this shows the current route on the DNR map.

now by taking a look at the DNR map, the trail would have to cross over 290th st. So i have no clue. not sure who even marks the trails down here (town is only 350 people).
