Thumbs up Gaylord trail graded

Heading north on the trail from the fairgrounds is were crushed limestone now risides, im not quite sure on how far the grade goes but it is no longer dirt and old railroad stone. I think that we'll get a better base out of it and hope to get some good snow this year, but until then i'll just keep working on the sled waiting for that snow.

The grading and crushed limestone goes all the way to Mackinaw city. Should be a great improvment.

They are working the Mullet lake streach this week. That trail looks sweet.

As of last weekend, they have completed the resurfacing as far as where the trail crosses 27 just north of Mullet Village (south of the 33 split). Some friends rode their bikes from IR to Topinabee & said it was great. Just hope it will stand up to the sleds. It really won't make much difference unless it is groomed well & often. As much as I hate to do it, we have used the lake, because the trail is so bumpy!!

Are you referring to Trail 7 or another trail? I know when I was riding 7 last year, there were sections with a lot of rocks next to the railroad.

I figured it was 7 that your were talking about, I just wanted to make sure. The crushed limestone will be a great upgrade for the trail, especially with all the use it gets. Hopefully it will help make grooming easier and keep the trail in better condition. Thanks for the reply.
