They have like 6 inches. My buddies went up today but it was too bare for me. They are suppose to get snow and ice rain this week. Keep the fingers crossed. I'll be there if they got snow. Check out this cam at High Market Sports - Your Central NY Source for Snowmobile, ATV, & Motorcycle Parts this is very accurate cam for tug hill. The AbsoluteSnowmobile cams are not soo accurate. Good luck and pray for snow

I just wish NY registration didn't cost an arm and a leg.Cost me and my wife 200 beans just to cross the state line, and lake chataqua is 3 hrs away from home.
I would mind goin up to tug hill either.

I think its all a bunch of crap. It should be like an automobile you should have it legit in your home state and be able to ride them anywheres. I mean c'mon.

I Don't understand why it HAS to be registrated in NY. I could understand a trail pass ,but having a NY owners card is a little strange.
There are 4 of us going to Newberry, Mi. All I have to do is send for 4 $25 trail pases. Our PA state reg is all you need to go there.

Wow, I didn't know u had to go thru all that. Yea NY is a *****. I joined a club so it only cost me $45 to register, but I had to pay $25 to join the club..lol But I have a question then....if I wanted to go riding in VT would I have to register in VT also?

Your home state registration will do. According to the Vermont DMV. May have to pay for a trail pass though, not sure.

This site provides daily trail report updates for Tug Hill - when there's snow

AbsoluteSnowmobile

Trails there aren't ridable currently. There's a chance of snow there Saturday night. Trails *might* be open by Sunday - who knows?

Due to hunting season, trails don't open on Tug Hill officially until December 8th. I think there's only been one or two days since then that the trails have been ridable.

As bad as last season was - Tug Hill was ridable all last December and January. Hard to believe, but this year is looking to be even worse!

Locally, snow showers are forecast for next Wednesday and Thursday. The problem is - it won't be cold - highs in the mid 30s, so the ground won't be frozen underneath any snow that falls, and by next Friday, the high is forecast for 44. So it looks like we'll make it though mid-January without a single day of ridable conditions so far.

goin to tug hill monday

hey guys... ok so im finally going up to tug hill on sunday night into monday with a bunch of my buddies. I know they have snow up there cause i checked the trail cams...but id like to get some first hand experienced feedback. How are they? Are they groomed yet? From the webcam it looked like they had quite a bit of snow...close to 2 feet. So please let me know what the conditions are. Thanks a bunch! -Dave.
