I would call the only snow mobile rental in mammoth and ask them the snow conditions. The owner is Don. I was there a month ago and they had two feet. suspect they have more now and it should be snowing there right now. Just looked at weather forcast and suppose to snow on and off for the next 4 days. 3 feet total accumulation with most on friday night

This should help. They have 12 inches to 4 feet from 8000 to 11000 feet based on website snow report.
The site has live web cams but looked at night and saw nothing.

November 25 weather storm warning for Sierras around Yosemite.
THE LONG BREAK FROM WINTER STORM CONDITIONS MAY COME TO AN END
SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY, WITH THE ARRIVAL OF A SIGNIFICANT
WINTER STORM. A WEATHER DISTURBANCE FROM THE GULF OF ALASKA IS
FORECAST TO DIVE INTO CENTRAL CALIFORNIA LATE SUNDAY AND LINGER
INTO MONDAY. THIS FEATURE IS PROJECTED TO HAVE ENOUGH COLD AIR AND
MOISTURE TO DROP A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SNOW FROM YOSEMITE PARK
SOUTH TO KINGS CANYON. LATEST FORECAST SNOW AMOUNTS SUGGEST MORE
THAN A FOOT OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE ABOVE 7000 FEET, BEFORE THE SNOW
ENDS MONDAY AFTERNOON. THIS STORM WILL IMPACT TIOGA PASS ON
HIGHWAY 120, AND SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY BE SIGNIFICANT
ENOUGH TO CLOSE THE PASS FOR THE SEASON.
Finally the season is upon us in southern Central California.

Mammoth snow level 31% of normal. Very little grooming. Only to remove moguls on trails.
Still one foot base with north face hills above 8000 feet with 4 feet snow.
155 miles of trails BUT only 30 miles groomed because lack of snow.
Start grooming with 2 feet of base.

Sled rental shop east of
395 not renting because lack of snow at 7000 feet !
Lot of dirt spots on the trails. Off trail is a no way ! Even at 9000 feet.
These conditions are the worst since drought of 1989.
Less than foot of snow for January. A 26 year record for low snow fall.
