hi,
yes, i did build it myself. all i have to say is do it man. you'll love it. you know, a snowmobile engine has to pull a sled which is not light but when it has to pull a kart that dosen't weigh as much. WOW.

well, it is air cooled so i just keep movin. no need to stay in one place at idle. but this engine has a pully driven fan on it so it never overheated.

I've always wanted a sled powered kart. how did you connect the secondary clutch to the frame?
could you post more pics of the clutch installation?
thanks

Looks like simple pillow blocks mounted solid to the frame. Maybe slotted mounting holes for chain/belt tension adjustment.

your 100% right indianrvrshiver,
heavy c channel bolted to the frame and pillow blocks to run the jackshaft. slotted mounting hole was a great guess for the adjustment.good eye.

Haha, 340? That's nothing. I have a friend who built a kart out of a Factory Yamaha SRX700 motor and some quad parts. It's nearly 10 feet long and goes well over 100 mph, we've only gotten it to 102 before we run out of straight paved surface to run it on. Oh, and it also runs Bender triple pipes and K&N filters.
