I have purchased an old (early 80's) 400 F/A.
Have cleaned gas tank, replaced fuel lines, cleaned fuel pump, screen etc. Cannot get it to run without squirting gas into the carbs.
Any suggestions welcome. This machine sat for a few years and the gas was sticky.

you probably need to replace the diaphrams in the carb. diaphram kit is about $10.00. i would go for a complete kit, which includes needle valve and seats and jets. this will cost ya about $25.00 this is if it is a TILLIOSON carb. if it is a MIKUNI, take the entire carb apart and give it GOOD cleaning. this should take care of your problem
