98 mxz 583 electric fuel gauge

My friend has a 98 mxz 583. we are trying to put an electric gas gauge from another ski doo on it. like the gauge that came with the formula z of the same time. what is needed. we have the gauge and a sender from a mach z. will the sender work with this sled? where does the sender go? any drilling in the tank required? any info at all or any helpfull links would be great. thanks a lot guys

first of all the mach z uses a differn't chassis so you may have a problem with the sending unit. i would try to find a used tank.
the sending unit is mounted on the part of the tank that is under the seat i am not exactly sure if you can install unit in tank not
originally equiped with one.

good luck
