Can anybody tell me what options the 85 formula ss had. What is the difference between this sled and lets say the mx. Thanks any info on the sled would be helpful.

The SS was a cross between the Safari and the Formula versions later produced. The biggest difference between the SS and MX was the MX had an independent front suspension (PRS version) where the SS had leaf spring skis. The SS had a 7.6 gal fuel tank, the MX had a 10.9. It was 3 inches narrower and 2 inches shorter than the MX, although it had the same engine and track. It was pretty much a budget sled, and was only made one year.

First question is does it have the same rear suspension as the mx would, and where do you get this kind of information. Is there any good web sites. They want 200 bucks for it, and it needs some clutch work what do you guys think. Its supposed to be in great shape and run awesome.

Can you put the MX front suspension on the SS??

The front suspension is TOTALLY different from the MX, won't fit. The front tunnel, hood, etc is all different. I got the info out of a Ski Doo book that is now out of print. It appears the rear suspension is the same.
