583 Rotax

Hi there,

My buddy is buying a seized 1995 583 rotax off of ebay. I was wondering.. Will we be able to bore this out cheaply, or is it that special coating (i forget what that is called)?

Also, i'm not entirely sure it comes with the water pump. How do water pumps work on Liquid Cooled sleds? I have only owned fan cooled. Does it turn on a belt like a car?

How did it seize? Piston seize or rod seize? The coating is nickasil. The pumps are usually shaft driven impellers.

Ok if it's nikasil how much would that cost to bore out usually?

I'm not sure if it's a piston seize or rod... How does a rod end up seized anyway? Blown crank seals?
