Anybody? 15 views no responses, How quick are these? Going to be used as a lake/ bay sled, sometimes trail.

your not gonna see 120 mph. the pro's running ON ICE in 2000 ft. are getting ,average, 112 MPH some a little more, some less. most sleds are going as fast as there going to go in a 1/4 mile (1320 ft) IMO. running in snow or even hard pack will cut your speeds down more yet. you have a lot more drag on a sled, riding on snow, than if you were on ice.

You'll be happy with a '97 Mach 1. They pull pretty hard. I ran a few radar runs with one back in 99/00 season and saw 118mph as my best run. Bone stock except for 144 studs. Terrible trail machine though, LOL.

Why do you say terrible trail machine? To heavy? I was planning on doing a little bit of trail riding.

must be one fast stock machine. here's some speeds the pro's were running in 2000ft. in the class the mach 1 would be in.
112.3
106.6
105.4
112.5
111.6
111.0
115.1
114.3
113.1
110.3
these are from different dates through the winter at speedruns on ice. there were many more on the list of low to mid 100's

Yeah, it was faster than any other Mach1 I'd seen. Sometimes I miss that sled...and then I ride my REV and forget all about it, LOL.

As for the trails...yes, it's heavy. It runs great on the straights but the ski lift on the corners is pretty bad because that chassis was origanally designed for 7" of travel out back, not 12" like the '97's had. Overall it was a great sled that hauled some serious @ss. The guy who bought it managed to blow the crank up and it never ran the same after that.
