TNT Heating

I notice that when I got my TNT back, its running extremely hot. I beleive its running so hot its the reason to why my head gasket keeps blowing. The spark plugs coils are very hot. The whole top of the engine is burning. The plugs them selves are extremely hot. Are these older machines (1972) suppose to run this hot, is this a normal heat range. I sure dont remember it being that hot. The right plugs are inside. But its running hot, any reasons?
