i have a question. I rebuilt my motor in my 1997 mxz 440lc and took it out and it runs great i rode it for about 30min and it just died. I checked for speark and there was none, befor this happened my headlights got very dim and my tach was bouncing around allot i am assuming this is the stator but am not possitive if so how do i remove it and also is this even the problem is there a way to test the stator after i remov it? thanks

it sounds to me like some wiring came loose. I would check everything. The stator can be checked at a dealer. But if when you turn it over, the headlight glows the stator is fine.
