1995 Skidoo Mach Z 780 help

hey everyone, just thought it would sign up and chime in with a question that i have.

I recently got an old motorcycle from a friend of mine that i paid him $700 for. I dont really have that much interest in riding this summer as i originally thought. I ended up seeing what i could get in trade for it online. I have a guy who offered me a 1995 skidoo mach z 780 for it. I took a look at it and ran great great and was still in pretty good cosmetic condition. only thing i could see that was wrong was a small tear in the seat.

I did a little bit of research and i read that these seem to have a lot of engine problems. But then I also read other stuff that said the problems were mainly with the 93 and 94 models and the 95 was better.

I guess my question to you guys is.. is it worth me investing $700 in this thing? or am i getting myself into a money pit so to speak?

I seem to be having some problems finding what one of them would be worth.. not many for sale in my area from what i can see.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any tips/info/advise given about this snowmobile will be greatly appreciated.

Best advice: have a buddy or anyone you know who knows alot about sleds with you to look at it. test compression, check chaincase out, track, suspension, how hard it is to start, anything like that.

Minimum of 120 and as much as 140 and should be within 10% of each other.

I had a 93 for years. All the issues were worked out for the 95 model. Super fast sleds!
