94 583 Rave voltage regulator question...

I think my voltage regulator is bad because I keep blowing bulbs. I have electric start and reverse. What is the voltage regulator I need to order for this? Having trouble figuring it out. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

You need a regulator/rectifier. What model?

It's a 1994 Ski Doo Formula STX 583 R.A.V.E. with electric start. Thanks for helping me with this.

Hey Rockport, here is a link to a parts fiche online. It's just one of many. You can find all your part numbers here. You may wish to put the link in your favorites or tool bar or somewhere so you can reference it easily. Good luck.
PS That regulator new from the dealer is $43.

Are you sure that's the part number? I am concerned that because mine has electric start, it might be a different one. That one looks like a two-wire. Shouldn't mine have three?

Regulator=manual start
Regulator/rectifier=elec start

I think if it wasn't elec start, the fiche would have just called it a regulator.

Things are not going well!

I ordered the part number according to the blow up and received a two-wire which won't work. The blow up is for a manual start I guess. I have electric start. I called Al's Snowmobile Parts and they said they have no way of looking up the correct part number and can't help me. So now what do I do? Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks for any and all help with this. Would like to be riding at night!

I know a guy who knows a guy who's doing this as well and has received his rectifier. I have an email out for the numbers and dealer. Will let you know.

I just talked to my local snowmobile repair shop and he just finished doing one for someone else. He thinks he may even have one in stock. If not, he said he knows exactly which one to order. I feel better now.
