98 Ski Doo Formula Sl Drive Axle Swap

My 98 Ski Doo Formula Sl's drive axle broke off on the chaincase side right in the middle of the splines and I don't feel like spending $200 for a new one. I was wondering if anyone on here has one laying around that I could buy? The stock axle I need is part number 501025100.

I received an axle numbered 501025500 from my uncle that was off a 97 Ski Doo MXZ 583, but the spline end wont fit into the chaincase on my sled because of the bigger dimension of the axle.

If i got a bearing that would fit the new axle and the stock chaincase, would I be able to slide on a sprocket that fits and it'd be good to go? Please tell me if theres something else that will interfere with this plan.

Thanks.

Have you tried eBay yet? Pretty cheap there and a ton of them.

Yeah I ordered one that was supposedly the right one but of course it was labeled wrong! I actually just found a 1996 model of my sled with a bad engine that has the right part! Its even in town, i'm going to look at it today.
