Blew your belt, too tight? too loose? Im not sure, it happens to everyone sooner or later.

your clutches may be out of line of your deflection may be off, but it was probly just a worn out belt.

one of my friends just blew a belt apart on his 2005 MXZ 800 ....scattered everywhere....100 miles on the sled.
(though his dad admitted to getting on the gas with the track iced to the ground)

yea its not anything to worry about, it happens to everyone, just get a new belt and see if its ok. if not check if its to tight or loose, if that doesnt work go to the dealership

A lot of people smoke the belt after getting either water or snow on it and then ride it. THe flat spot burned into the belt from that after time will cause it to come apart. That's why it's important to check the belt regularly....

this is true. plus, once the first chunk gets ripped, it comes apart pretty quick!
chances are, it's nothing to worry about. belts blow. that's why it's something you should have an extra of on you at all times. my 500 had to tow a fusion the other weekend, because the belt blew (brand new sled) and he didnt have an extra one.

one if your riding and your in fluff and your track is spinning stop it from spinning caused if you all of a sudden hit hard pack and that track gets a grip quick you have just burned a spot in your belt which will rapidly get worse
two in the mourning make sure you lift the back of your sled and slam it aorund to get it unforzen cause when you go to take off and it doesnt go then the ice breaks and your off that 2 puts a burn in your belt which rapidly gets worse

Actually, if you just rev the motor to break loose the frozen track, it burns the flat spot since the track isn't spinning....

break the ice out... i burned up my belt doing this. the hood was open, and someone was holding the back end up. since my clutch engages a little high (still), i thought i just needed to give it some more gas. heh, not the case

thats what i said sunhine ( i dont swing that way sorry)
lift your sled and slam it a few times to get it unstuck or if you have one of those stands for the trakc put that there and get the track moving to warm it up

Smartest thing is to get the track off the ground overnight. Make yourself or buy a jack to lift the rear end of the ground. When you start the sled in the mourning it's a lot easier on the drive belt to turn the track with no pressure on. The jack costs less than a new drive belt.
