Question 99 mxz 670HO smoking Heavy??

Hi everyone.
new to site but have learned alot already from all the great posts.but anyway i have a problem with my 99 mxz 670 HO
I bought it last year it ran great the little i got to run it, this year i brought it to the shop and had them clean the carbs and go through it.
The guy who worked on it told me he removed the can to remove the nest from mice that was in it and found it to have a hole in the can and the heat shield is rusted off.
so not a problem now i need to look for a new exhaust for the sled. i got it home and took it off the trailer it started on the second pull but has a lot of smoke coming from it. i opened the hood and found oil residue evrywere.
Can anyone tell me how i can fix this??? I know for sure i will never bring it to that shop again it cost me $428 to clean th mice crap and change the plugs..
Thanks in advance for the help
Tim

Check here for a used exhaust.

It would be normal for a cold engine to smoke a lot and if it has been started and stopped several times without getting up to temp, it will do so for a long time.

has the engine been run long enough to get the exchangers warm and the pipe to operating temp?
Usually what happens is all the old soot in the cold pipe is picked up by the moisture of the warming engine and moved through the exhaust. It will leak out at any joint that is not 100% tight and make a mess.
Clean out the mess with a good organic cleaner [simple green works great] and see if you find any more leakage.
Inspect the oil pump and lines for any sign of seepage.
