head or valvecover??

i have been dismantaling 2-95 formulaIII,s to do pistons
on the one i ride. other sled is a parts doner with a
destroyed crank & 1 bad jug & piston.
my question is- on the sled i ride the temp guage
sensor is in the head. on parts sled its in valve
cover??
the parts sled doesnt even have a hole for the
sender in head. so what place is better??
the head on sled i ride has a plug in the v-cover???
funny thing is the vin numbers are only 53 apart
so what changed ??????

Go to www.hlsm.com and check the microfiche for different years. Maybe they will show both.

well.............
it doesnt show a hole in the head
on any of the 600 heads!!!! any years???
so now im wondering why i have one. lol

Not sure. My 617's all have the hole in the head (top cover), not the cylinder.

im going to say that someone probably drilled and tapped the one and relocated the sensor. and the R deffinetly has to stand for race lol

well the fisch shows front head for a 98fIII 600r,
the top one is standard 600??
so im not sure.
but deff a factory plug & tap.

use the r head probably have a bit better compression
