Need INFO on MX-470 - Snowmobile Forum: Your #1 Snowmobile Forum

I just bought a 1995 MX-470. I have no experience with Ski-doos but have always heard good reports about Rotax motors.

For example;

Were all the 470's liquid cooled?

Was there a specific problem that I should watch out for?

What can you tell me about this particular year, model and engine?

Looks like mine except for the low wind screen and I painted my tunnel black. It's my go to sled. Never fails me.

Pull the chain cover and replace that oil. My skid was in a state when I got mine so that came out as well. New bearings in most of the idlers and a lot of rust removed and it's in great shape now. An SC10 conversion would be better however. Enjoy.

I would love to see a photo of your sled with the black tunnel if you have one.

Wish I could help with the picture but the sled is stuffed in the back shed on a trailer with the 97. Just enough room to get on it and start it every 2 weeks but a picture is not likely. I'll pull them out next month and get you a shot but for me it's a no brainer. A painted tunnel is far better looking than bare aluminum. Cheers.

470...70 hp @7000 rpm geared 22-44=70 mph ish top speed

In 95 all the 470s were LC but I think there was a year or 2 where there were 2 models with fans.
Forgot about that picture so I'll try to post it here.
