HELP ME!!! summit 800 flooding isues???

so i just bought this summit 800... but when i went to fire it up i noticed it is hard to start. you can start it in the first couple pulls but soon as you shut it off and try and start it again it floods out very fast theres a nice amount of gas dripping off the bottom of the sled when im down pulling. when it is running it seems boggy or powerless. i cheacked the compression and its 120 psi per cyilnder. also put new plugs in it. could this be a a jet/ carb problem??? somebody plz help me as winter is around the corner...

also the guy i got it from starts it by lossing off the plugs a bit and holding the throttle wide open and pulls till it starts wich it does. he said he put "fogging oil" in it and it needs to be flushed out of this system. let me know if i got screwed lol.

Just took the carbs out and there pritty dirty up top. The bottom with the white floats wasint to bad. I have no carb cleaner ATM. Any suggestions on cleaning all this while it's out. Could there be a hose of some place helping the issue?

the jets could be clogged i would use either air from a compressor or use a small fine peace of wire to get in to all the jets i bet there is ethonal clogged up in there u can use gas to clean it with a fine brush i would use brass dont use steal and a tooth brush will probibly melt but u can try that as well

Ok I'm new to all this and I looked the main jets have 470 stamped in them, could the jets be to big aswell? And also if it's not the carb what else could cause this issue. ?

the float could be stuck witch would flow a lot of fuel and fill your crank along with the carb i have only seen that once but that was on a 4 stroke engine but it is posible i would say its the carbs look at them close take your time and clean them along with the needle if that is not clean it wont run right my buddys 470 mx had that issue

Right on man I'll update tomrorow once I give it a good clean. I know it's a flooding issue since it smells strongly of gas and is dripping out the bottom of the sled every time I try to start it

Lol its only when I'm pulling it over. Another thing I forgot to mention when I opend the top parts of carbs there is this tiny spring in each one for somthing I noticed one of the spring ends broke off the the spring is not doing anything in the one carb.

Be careful jetting leaner. It's hot out. Your sled is jetted for winter. Cold air requires a bigger jet because the air is more dense. If you jet smaller, you take a chance of leaning out the air/fuel too much and burning holes in the pistons. If you go smaller in the summer, make SURE you jet appropriately for temperature and elevation when you ride this winter, or you will be learning all about replacing pistons. Trust me on this one!

Fogging oil is a very sticky oil that is put in the engine at the end of the season. It coats all the internal parts of the engine to prevent rust. When I use fogging oil, I almost always foul a set of plugs just getting it out at the start of winter.

X2. Do NOT rejet it. Wait until it's cold and it'll run fine.
