The plugs at the bottom of the hood near the hinge are usually the culprit.

I would try to get the harness all the way out. That was a known issue with those sleds, and you should try to reroute it somewhere else.

The red/green wire comes from the start switch and goes to the optional starter. You may wish to cap this if it's been left bare.

You might want to pull the pipes to gain better access to the wiring in the front there. I don't see a need to reroute that harness. Just pull it out so you can make repairs and tie it back in place.

In 98, the cdi and v-reg were moved to the belly along with all the ignition wiring that goes with them. This is where the infamous chafing problems began causing no spark. Your 97 just has the few lighting/gauge wires under there and as long as they are protected with conduit and tied off, you'll be fine.

Take this opportunity to clean all those connections and lube them with silicone grease. Do it once and forget about them. Good luck.

Thanks guys as i was doing that i shut down shop for the night and came out to the garage to find a pool of fuel on the ground while the fuel was shut off so im thinking i got a leak from the fuel tank its self or as i read in the shop man that i might have a fuel pump diapram leak none of the fuel lines show any type of signs of leaking but i got fuel driping from the bottom so now i need to figure out how to see in better detail where its coming from good thing i got months before the snow returns

My 95 dumped a ton of fuel one evening, right in front of us while we were having cocktails in the yard. I had just topped off the tank that morning. A small temp' change appeared to be the cause. I no longer fill the tanks to the top. Just a thought.

good thought!!!
this is the time of year with all the temp changes
that pressure builds up in tank. my gade has a valve that kinda
whistles to let out pressure. i usually am out in shop, so once
in a while i crack the caps loose, im amased on the pressure
that comes out.
even with the fuel drained from tank!!!
