Well I have purchased a 1996 mxz 583. My question is, is it really a 1996? The hood is purple with yellow colored vents, it says mxz 583. During serches for parts and just information, I have yet to see a 1996 mxz 583 that is not entirely yellow. What is the difference between the colors, yellow or the purple. I see a lot of formula z and mach z with the puple color. Thanks for any input.

I own a 1996 Formula Z, it has purple with red trailing arms etc. I don't think they made the MXZ yellow that year, but I could be mistaken.

The MXZ was yellow in 96 and had the S chassis. The Formula Z was purple and had the F chassis. In 97, only their triples were in the F chassis.
