2001 mxz 700?

Well my dad is on the search for a sled and he came across a 2001 mxz 700 with 1300 miles.
I want to know the low down on these sleds, because I dont want him to buy a lemon.

is there any known problems?

is it reliable?

I was lookin into them when I was in the hunt for a sled, but I only liked the black, not the yellow, and I couldnt find one. Engine wise, No idea... Im not up to par with skidoo at all, It should have RAVE's tho right? i would think its a pretty powerful sled.. the ones I was looking at tho, i found alot with under 3k miles, and most of them said rebuilt top end, or one new piston... I dont kno if thats a coincidence, or if there was some sort of problem?

great sled. zx chassis is light and responsive. good handling and good riding. the 700twin is considered one of the best twins polars ever did. it has the power (withing 5hp) of the 800 twin, no crank issues and a great reputation. check the carb boots, they are notorious for dry-rotting on these sleds. and when they split open, the engine will lean out and loose a piston. thats why so many have rebuilt top-ends w/ low miles. not an engine issue, its a mantainance issue. all of the doo twins have that problem. parts are everywhere for them as well. stock hp is in the 115-120 range. with traction, the 700 is a very, very fun sled.

both are great sleds and I would be happy to have either to ride (seriously, i own an mxz 700). its all going to come down to price and the little extras like picks, reverse, etc.... if both are in the same price range, either choice will be a good one.
