Smoke?>

Hey everyone,

Is it normal for my 1990 Safari LXE to smoke like crazy? When I look at the plugs the mixture looks perfect. She runs great, just a lot of smoke. I did buy really cheap oil though. Perhaps the problem?

This thing will fill the garage in like. Oh i'd say a minute of idling

Couple questions.... First. How many miles to you have on the sled? Has the sled ever had a rebuild/engine work? What kind of oil are you running? I think with this info we will be able to help you more!

If it has last year's fuel in it, it'll smoke like crazy.

uh

8000 some kilometres. Not sure of a rebuild, but I'm guessing no.

All last year's gas should be through it by now.

Do a compression test on it to see what it has. Cheap oil could do it, but not sure....8000k is quite a bit....

Ok. Each side has 120PSI... I understand this is a reasonable compression... Would it be smoking because of this?

Compression is god, it won't smoke because of that. You may need to turn the oiler cable down a little, it's probably pulling the pump open too much.
