2005 Ski-doo GTX 550 Fan Cooled

A friend of mine has a 2005 GTX 550 Fan and last year he lost the voltage regulator. So seeing it was so late in the winter he didn't replace it until this winter and on the first ride of the season after putting about 30 kms on it all of a sudden his headlight cut in and out a couple of time and then all of a sudden every light on the sled went out. He kind of figures that its the voltage regulator again but doesn't want to waste his money again by putting another one on. He doesn't know what to look for as to what might be causing this problem although he knid of figures that theres a wire problem there somewhere.

Does anyone know of anything to look for in general or is this a common problem with these sleds???

Any input is certainly welcome.

Thanks guys.

Not a common problem. Sounds like a wire may have loosened up or come off. See if you can get to the regulator to check voltages.
