I think that the FIII has a better motor and is more reliable. The XLT probably has better suspension though.

The 600 Ski-Doo is more of a performance machine but I would say far from reliable. I know of 3 people that lost motors in these and another friend that lost 2 or 3 in the 700cc Mach 1 and most everybody I ride with has Cats. The XLT is a great trail cruiser and should last forever.

It deepends on who you talk to, I personally like Ski-Doo and ride a Formula III, I've beaten XLT's, when my sled ran crappy, they beat me. I have friends that swear by Polaris, and than there are those of us who know better Ride 'em both and look 'em over, that's the only way to decide. Each machine is different, and they both have their pro's and con's. Good luck.

I did nothing but routine maintanance last year and made all our trips and my buddies friend had his indy in the shop everytime it was time to go. Had it serviced, took it out on the trails for break in, and when he rode it to his house to load up something was always wrong. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
